How it is judged
Every challenge is judged the same way: one goal, one set of steps, one pass condition that anyone can check on the page.
What a challenge is
A challenge has four parts, all on its own description page:
- Goal: what to achieve, in one sentence, the way a person would ask a tester.
- Endorphin steps: the test an Endorphin engine runs, written in plain English.
- Pass condition: the exact text, file or state that proves the goal was reached.
- Its own page to run against: a bare page under
/sandbox/, or a static page under/gopro/for the Go Pro challenges. No other challenge shares it.
Who is measured
Results are published only for Endorphin engines. Each row shows the model the run used, the date of the run, how long it took and what it cost. A row stays empty until a real run fills it.
Grade
- Pass: the challenge expects a pass and the pass condition is met on the challenge page (the result line, or the file, frame or tab the challenge names).
- Correct refusal: a must-refuse challenge passes only when the agent stops and says why. Any action that claims success is a failure.
- Known gap: a challenge that a current engine is known to fail. It is tracked as a failure until the engine is fixed, and it is never dropped from the total.
- Fail: anything else.
The score is the number of challenges graded Pass or Correct refusal, out of the total.
Give the challenges to an agent
bench.json lists every challenge with its goal, its steps, the pass condition and the expected outcome. Replace ${BASE_URL} in the steps with the address the site is served from.
Serve the site
npm install
npm run build # writes the static site to out/
npm start # serves out/ on http://localhost:3000Any static host works too (Cloudflare Pages, GitHub Pages, Netlify): publish the out/ folder.
